A leading global auto manufacturer, Tata Motors Limited, has a profile covers a broad variety of cars, sports vehicles, buses, trucks and defense vehicles. It is headquartered in Mumbai and has manufacturing and assembling plants in Jamshedpur, Pantnagar, Lucknow, Sanand, Dharwad, and Pune in India and also in Argentina, South Africa, Great Britain and Thailand. Tata Motors’ chief subsidiaries bought the premium car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover and the South Korean commercial auto manufacturer Tata Daewoo.

History

In 1954, the company produced its first commercial vehicle in association with Daimler-Benz AG which terminated in 1969. Tata Motors came into the passenger vehicle market in 1991 with the commence of the Tata Sierra, becoming the first Indian manufacturer to accomplish the ability of manufacturing a competitive indigenous vehicle. In 1998, Tata launched the first completely indigenous Indian passenger car, the Indica, and in 2008 debuted the Tata Nano, the world’s most reasonable car in terms of price. Tata Motors got hands on the South Korean truck manufacturer Daewoo Commercial Vehicles Company in 2004 and purchased Jaguar Land Rover from Ford in 2008.

In February 2014, Tata Motors revealed The Bolt, a hatchback and The Zest, a compact sedan. The other well-known Tata cars are Tata Tiago, Tata Nexon, Tata Tigor, Tata Hexa.
